Two die in Comilla head-on collision

Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a pick-up van on Comilla-Brahmanbaria highway in Jaforganj area of Debidwar upazila early Thursday.

 

Shahjahan Khan, inspector of Mirpur Highway Police outpost of the upazila, said the accident took place around 2:00am in the area when a Comilla-bound truck collided head-on with Brahmanbaria-bound pick-up van, leaving Salauddin, 22, the owner and driver of the pick-up van and its helper Abul Mia, 30, dead on the spot, reports UNB.

 

Salauddin, son of Abu Hanif hailed from Balibari village while Abul Mia, son of Moharram Ali from Ghosna village of the upazila.

 

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Comilla Medical College and Hospital for autopsy, the police official added.

 

A case has been filed in this connection.
