Two people have been killed in a head-on collision between an autorickshaw and a cement-laden truck in Manikganj's Singair.
The accident took place near the Singair bus stand on the Manikganj-Singair regional road around 7:15 am on Thursday, said Toufiq Azam, chief of the local police station.
The victims were identified as Monir Hossain, 50, from Manikganj's Harirampur Upazila, and Abdul Mannan, 23, from Daulatpur Upazila, reports UNB.
Both were passengers on the autorickshaw.
The autorickshaw was travelling toward Singair from Manikganj when it collided with the truck near the bus stand, according to police.
Monir and Mannan died at the scene.
Both the truck and autorickshaw drivers fled after the crash, police said.
Police have initiated legal procedures over the accident, said OC Azam.
