Two men die from electrocution in city

Two men have died from electrocution in two separate incidents in the capital's Shahbagh and Demra areas.

The deceased were identified as Md Aainal (30) and Md Al Amin (35).

Aainal, a tailor master by profession, came in contact with a live electric wire that was lying under accumulated rainwater in front of Malek Shah Majar (opposite Bangladesh Secretariat) while he was returning to his house on Thursday night.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) at around 12:15 am on Friday where the attending doctor declared him dead.

Aainal, son of Gafur Mollah, hailed from Laximpur district.

Md Alm Amin received a severe electric shock inside a rickshaw garage at Demra in the capital.

After he was taken to DMCH, the attending physician there pronounced him dead at around 2:30 am on Friday.

Al Amin hailed from Nalitabari upazila of Sherpur district. Son of Shamsuddin, he had been residing at Borobanga in Demra of the capital.

In-charge of DMCH police camp Md Faruk said that dead bodies were kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy and the matter was informed to the police stations concerned.
