Two more children died of measles in the country in the last 24 hours, according to a press release sent from the control center of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today (Monday).
Besides, it said, five more are suspected to have died of the disease, BSS reports.
In the last 24 hours, 1,371 new suspected measles patients have been identified across the country, and 82 laboratory-confirmed patients have been found, according to the DGHS data.
It said that from March 15 to April 13, the total number of confirmed measles patients was 2,721 and the number of suspected measles patients was 17,024.
At the same time, 8,369 patients have recovered from the hospital and returned home.
Since March 15, 30 children have died from confirmed measles. At the same time, 156 children have died from suspected measles.
During this time, the highest number of suspected measles cases was reported in Dhaka Division, with a total of 7,273 children infected. Out of these, 1,549 children have been confirmed to have measles.
The DGHS is monitoring the situation around the clock and is regularly collecting and analyzing information through the Integrated Control Center.
In addition to ensuring necessary medical care for patients, people have been advised to remain aware.
