Two sexagenarian people were crushed under the wheels of a running train at Belpukur railway crossing under Puthiya upazila in Rajshahi on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Kurban Ali, 68, and Shamsul Alam, 65. They were residents of the same area, police sources said.
Kabirul Islam, inspector (investigation) of Belpurkur Police Station, said the people were crushed under wheels of the train while they were crossing the railway track around 4:00pm. Both of them died on the spot.
On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to the morgue of Rajshahi Medical College for post mortem, added the police officer. A case of unnatural death was also recorded with the police station in this connection, reports BSS.
