Aggrieved Civil Society, a citizen platform, has issued an ultimatum to release or present the six coordinators of the quota reform movement and others detained over the protests to court within 24 hours.
The ultimatum was issued at a programme titled “We want justice over murders, illegal detention and torture” at DRU in the capital on Tuesday.
Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) Executive Director Dr Iftekharuzzaman told the programme, "We’ll go to the DB office after the programme to meet the coordinators. If we are not allowed to meet them, the next programme will be announced from there."
Detective Branch of police picked up the six quota reform movement coordinators from different places, including hospital. Police are saying that they have kept them in their custody for their safety.
Dr Iftekharuzzaman said, "We’re giving 24 hours to the DB authorities. If the detainees are not released unconditionally within this time, we will jump into a stronger movement on behalf of the citizens of Bangladesh.”
