The visiting UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, on Thursday said that though the situation in Myanmar was very difficult, solutions to the Rohingya crisis must be ensured.
"And we discuss also the importance which I have always agreed with to find solutions in Myanmar. The situation in Myammar is very difficult. There is a conflict going on, actually many many conflicts going on, but we must insist to have a solution", he told reporters after his meeting with Foreign Adviser Touhid Hossain at the ministry.
"We discussed the situation of Rohingya refugees, we discussed how to continue to manage this very difficult situation".
He expressed his 'gratitude to Bangladesh for continuing to host the Rohingya, 'in spite of its own challenges linked to the transition'.
The government proposed organising a conference on the Rohingya situation in the next few months and "we will support that conference", Mr Grandi added.
He arrived in Dhaka on Thursday on a three-day visit.
