Thirty-nine more Bangladeshi nationals have been deported from the United States over allegations of illegal stay. They were sent back by a US military aircraft, a C-17.

They arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka on Saturday morning. The Immigration police of HSIA confirmed their arrival.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the repatriation is part of the US government's crackdown on undocumented immigrants. Since the administration of former President Donald Trump, the US has been actively deporting foreign nationals staying illegally.

Previously, the US had deported 118 Bangladeshi citizens under similar circumstances.
