'Enough', an awareness campaign to tackle child hunger and malnutrition

World Vision Bangladesh held a views exchange meeting with journalists regarding a new campaign, the 'Enough' , aimed at eradicating child hunger and malnutrition. The event was held on Tuesday (3 December) at a hotel in Cox's Bazar town.

During the meeting, Dr Rahul Mathew Nimmagadda, Deputy Director of World Vision, highlighted the campaign's goals of raising awareness, distributing nutritious food, and working towards long-term solutions.

He expressed optimism about the campaign's potential and provided detailed information about its objectives.

He said that World Vision is currently working in 88 upazilas across 28 districts in Bangladesh to identify and address child malnutrition. To achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2, "Zero Hunger," the "Enough" campaign focuses on ensuring nutrition and health budget allocations at the union council level, speeding up nutrition monitoring activities at the district level, and ensuring balanced food distribution at the national level.

During the discussion, Asuntha Charles, Response Director of Cox's Bazar operation World Vision's Rohingya Crisis Response Program, spoke to local media personnel. Drawing on his experience in humanitarian assistance in several countries, Charles sought the support and advice of journalists in the implementation of projects for Rohingya refugees.

Around 40 journalists from both national and local media outlets in Cox's Bazar district attended the event. In an open discussion, participants shared various opinions and suggestions.

Mahbubur Rahman, President of the Cox's Bazar Press Club, as well as the Press Club's General Secretary Mamataz Uddin Bahari, and journalists Md Nurul Islam and Saiful Islam Chowdhury, were also present.
