Wari restaurant fire under control; no casualties

A fire that broke out at a restaurant in Dhaka's Wari area on Friday night has been brought under control.

However, no casualties were reported, according to local media.

The fire originated from the kitchen of the Peshwarain restaurant opposite the Post Office at 10:14 and was extinguished by 10:32 pm, fire service officials said.

On information, five fire service units were dispatched to the scene. However, by the time they reached the scene, the blaze had already been brought under control, they said.

Fire extinguishers were used to douse the flames, according to fire service officials.

Earlier on Thursday night, a fire ripped through a seven-storey building on Bailey Road in the capital, leaving at least 46 people dead and several others injured.
