Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman has assured the Army would be standing by those injured in the July uprising.
He gave the assurance while speaking at an Iftar Mahfil hosted in honour of the inured, at the Sena Malancha in Dhaka Cantonment on Sunday evening.
The Army Chief said, "Never lose your morale. There’s nothing to lose morale for. You’re the nation's proud sons. You’ve sacrificed a lot for this country and nation. I congratulate you. I express my gratitude to you. And I give you this assurance that we’ll always be standing by you."
Announcing that the Army will make efforts to rehabilitate the injured, Wakar-uz-Zaman said, "So far, we’ve treated and are treating more than 4,200 people. Our support will always be there. We will try for your rehabilitation.”
He said the Army is working to provide the injured with financial assistance and businessmen, banks, various institutions are extending support to this end.
The money received from the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI) is being delivered to the injured, he added.
