At least 22 houses belonging to the Hindu community have come under attack in the village of Aldadpur Balapara in Rangpur’s Gangachara Upazila, following an allegation of blasphemy.
The assault took place on Saturday, with witnesses saying attackers used loudspeakers to rally people before storming the neighbourhood, reports bdnews24.com.
Fearing for their lives, residents fled their homes and took shelter in distant areas. Several homes were looted during the attack, according to multiple accounts from locals.
