Police have recovered the body of a woman from a septic tank of an under-construction building in Shariatpur on Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Iva Akhter, 20, wife of Delwar Choiyal of Chakad village in Naria upazila and daughter of Abdul Mannan of Chandipur village in the same upazila.
Being informed by locals, police with the help of members of local Fire Service and Civil Defence station recovered the body from the septic tank of the under-construction building in the morning, said Aslam Uddin, officer-in-charge of Naria Police Station.
The victim's grandmother, however, alleged that Delwar pushed Iva from the roof of the building and dumped the body in the septic tank afterwards, according to a UNB report.
Meanwhile, OC Aslam said the body bore several injury marks, adding that a murder case was filed with the police station.
