A 65-year-old woman was killed when a truck knocked her down in the Jatrabari area of Dhaka on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Amena Begum, a resident of the Jatrabari area in Dhaka. She hailed from Sadar upazila of Chandpur district, reports UNB.
The accident occurred around 2:30 am when the truck hit the woman as she was crossing the road in front of Jatrabari fish market, leaving her critically injured.
Later, she was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, where the doctors declared her dead, said Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital police camp.
Police seized the truck and arrested its driver.
