A woman was killed in a road accident in Gulistan area in the capital on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Majeda Begum, 65, hailing from Rajbari district, UNB reports.
Pedestrian Md Russel who brought the victim to DMCH said a speeding vehicle hit her around 11:50 am in front of Gulistan Hall Market when Majeda was crossing the road, leaving her injured.
Russel was immediately rushed her to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead at 1:30 pm.
Md Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH police outpost, said the body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
