Woman 'kills herself while on video call with boyfriend in Barishal

A 21-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide while keeping her boyfriend on a video call at a rented flat in Nahar Mansion on Baptist Mission Road in Barishal on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Sharmin Akter Mim, who worked at a clothing showroom on Police Lines Road in the city.

She hailed from Kushangal village in Nalchity upazila of Jhalakathi and was the daughter of Md Lal Mia, according to local media reports.

Being informed police recovered the body and sent it to the morgue of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.

Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Model Police Station Al Mamun Ul Islam said legal action would be taken if the family files a complaint. An investigation is underway, he added.
