Workers of Keya Knit Composite Limited situated in Konabari police station under Gazipur City Corporation, initiated protests early on Monday, demanding their overdue salaries, Eid allowances, and yearly leave entitlements.

Workers express their grievances highlighting their pending wages, festival bonuses and annual leave allowances. Despite repeated appeals, the company management has failed to fulfil these financial obligations, according to a local media report.

Consequently, the workers commenced their protest in front of the factory premises and blocked the Konabari-Kashimpur road early on Monday. The obstruction resulted in a complete standstill of vehicular movement on the route.

Deepak Chandra Majumdar, additional police superintendent of industrial police in the Kashimpur zone confirmed the matter. Later, police and local law enforcement rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
