A writ petition has been filed with the High Court challenging the legality of the referendum held on February 12 and seeking annulment of the results declared on February 13.
The petition was filed in the public interest today (Tuesday) by Supreme Court lawyer ABM Ataul Mazid Touhid.
The Chief Election Commissioner, the Cabinet Secretary and the Law Secretary have been made respondents in the writ petition.
A High Court bench led by Justice Fatema Nazib is likely to hold a hearing on the matter next week.
