Wrong-way van driver dies after collision with truck in Sirajganj

A van driver was killed after being hit by a truck while crossing the road in the wrong direction on the Hatikumrul-Dhaka-Pabna road in Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Ranzu Ahmed, 35, son of Yasin Ali from Chariashika Dakshin Para village in the same upazila.
The accident occurred around 7:30 am while Ranzu was crossing the road with a fish-loaded van when a speeding truck hit him and fled the scene near the Dhopakandi Bridge area.
He died on the spot, and the van was badly damaged.
Ismail Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Hatikumrul Highway Police Station, said the victim was hit while crossing the road against the traffic rule. As no complaint was filed, the body was handed over to the family.
