A husband was stabbed allegedly by his wife on their wedding night at Lautoli village in Faridganj upazila of Chandpur on Monday night.
The injured husband Delwar Hossain, 26, is undergoing treatment at Comilla Medical College Hospital.
Local people said the girl might have a love affair with another boy and that could be the reason she tried to murder her husband.
Delwar Hossain, son of late Harun-or-Rashid married Shyamoli Akhter, 20, daughter of Firoz Alam of Charmandari village in the upazila on Monday.
On the wedding night at around 2:00am, family members heard screams and found Delwar injured in bloody condition, reports UNB.
He was rushed to local hospital for primary treatment, and then transferred to Comilla Medical College Hospital.
On information, police visited the spot but no group complaint in this connection, said Md Harun-or-Rashid, officer-in-charge of Faridganj Police Station.
