A total of 133,044 motorcycles were registered in the first five months of the current calendar year across the country, according to official data.
Of the total, 32,777 got registered in Dhaka from January to May 2021, according to Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) statistics.
The number of registered motorcycles was 311,016 in 2020 while 401,452 in 2019, the data showed.
The data also revealed that 395,603 motorbikes were registered in 2018 while 326,550 in 2017.
