Some 3041 out of 7,700 affected people by Padma bridge project have received compensation under a resettlement programme.
The affected populace received Tk 776.95 million as compensation.
The process of compensating the rest of the people is underway.
The compensation was given at a meeting of Bangladesh Railway Padma Bridge Rail Link Project (PBRLP), held in the capital on Sunday.
Project Director and Additional Secretary Engineer Golam Fakhruddin Ahmed Chowdhury addressed the event as the chief guest.
