36 injured in violence against religious minorities in first eight months

At least 36 people were injured in different violent attacks on religious minorities in the first eight months of the current calendar year across the country.

Among the injured, one person was Buddhist and remaining 35 were from Hindu minority group, according to data from Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK).

Apart from this, 44 temples/monasteries or statues were attacked. Besides, seven incidents of land and property grab were reported, the local independent rights body revealed.

Some 101 people were injured in the attacks on religious minorities in 2019, the ASK data showed.

Besides, 53 houses and 72 temples/monasteries or statues of Hindu community were attacked last year.
