An accused in a murder case fled from the police custody in a court in Faridpur on Tuesday noon.

The accused was identified as Farid Sheikh, 26, son of Md Ishak Sheikh of Guhalaxmipur of the district town.

Court inspector Najnin Begum said sub-inspector Jillur Rahman and constable Rabibul Islam produced five accused, including Farid, before the Faridpur Judge Court-2 at noon.

Farid fled from the custody when all the accused were staying at the courtroom after the hearing, he said.

Police arrested Farid on September 17, 2011 in a case filed over the snatching of an easy-bike after killing its driver on August 15 of the year, reports UNB.
