Airstrikes in N Afghanistan kills six militants

At least six militants have been killed as security force aircraft targeted a hideout of Taliban group in Torgul village of Shirin Tagab district district of northern Afghanistan's Faryab province on Tuesday morning, an army spokesman Nasratullah Jamshidi said.

All the arms and ammunitions kept inside the hiding place have been destroyed, Jamshidi told Xinhua news agency.

Parts of Shirin Tagab district has been the scene of heavy fighting over the past few days.

On Monday, 13 people including eight militants and five security personnel were reportedly killed in the region.
