Algeria’s intelligence chief, Athmane Tartag, has been removed from his post, Reuters reported on Friday citing private Ennahar television station.
Tartag, a retired army general, was an ally of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, who resigned on Tuesday in the face of mass protests.
