A brilliant century of Towhid Hridoy enabled Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team to almost assure the semifinal berth of the ACC Youth Asia Cup Cricket 2017 from Group A crushing hosts Malaysia by a massive 262 runs in their 2nd match at Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur on Monday, reports UNB.

With the day's feat, Mohammad Saif Hassan-led Young Tigers dominated the Group A with all record after beating Nepal by two wickets under D/L method in the first match at Kinrara Oval on Saturday.

India and Nepal are also in the semifinal race with one win from two group engagements.

India thrashed Malaysia by 202 runs on Friday while Nepal upset giant India beating them by 19 runs on Sunday.

Bangladesh will play India while Nepal will face Malaysia in the remaining Group A matches today (Tuesday) to decide the group champions.

Sent in to bat first in the day's match, Bangladesh piled up a huge 335 runs for 6 in stipulated 50 overs featuring 190 runs in the 3rd wicket partnership by Towhid Hridoy and captain Saif Hassan.

Two down batsman Towhid Hridoy made a century contributing run-a-ball 120 featuring seven fours and four sixes while one down batsman cum captain Saif Hassan scored a polished 90 runs off 103 balls, with five fours and three sixes.

Besides, Aminul Islam (not out 39), Afif Hossain (21), Mahidul Islam Ankon (16), Naim Sheikh (13) and Pinak Ghosh (12) were other notable batsmen for Bangladesh reaching the double figures.

Muhammad Hafiz grabbed four wickets for 78 runs while Syed Aziz took two for 96 runs.

Chasing the huge target, hosts Malaysia managed only 73 runs for the loss of eight wickets in quota 50 overs with only captain Virandeep Singh reaching double figure scoring 46 runs off 130 balls, hitting five boundaries.

Shakhwat Hossain claimed three wickets for 18 runs while Afif Hossain took two for 19.
