BD registers 3,163 new coronavirus cases, 33 more deaths

The number of confirmed coronavirus patients in Bangladesh surged to 190,057 on Tuesday as the country registered 3,163 fresh cases in the last 24 hours.

Besides, 33 more people died from Covid-19 during the period. Among the fatalities, 23 were male and the rest were female, the health directorate said.

With the latest, the death toll from the lethal disease now stands at 2,424.

Nasima Sultana, additional director general (admin) at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), disclosed the information while briefing the media live on the daily Covid-19 bulletin at 2:30pm.

The fresh coronavirus infections were found after testing a total of 13,453 samples in 79 labs, she said.

Besides, the recovery count also jumped to 103,227 after 4,910 patients were recovered during the period under review.

Globally, 13,248,972 people have been infected by the novel coronavirus and 575,841 people died as of Tuesday noon, according to the worldometer.

Of them, 4,955,144 are currently being treated with 59,209 remain in serious or critical condition.

So far, 7,717,987 people have recovered.
