Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) during a drive seized 20 gold bars worth Tk 10million from bordering Sadipur area under Benapole Port Police Station on Wednesday morning.
A team of BGB-49 Battalion, led by Lt Col Ariful Haque, raided the area on secret information and seized the gold bars weighing 2kg.
The smugglers managed to flee the scene sensing the presence of the law enforcers, reports UNB quoting the BGB official.
A case was filed in this connection and the gold was deposited to Benapole Customs House.
