Dhaka bourse, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), started the Monday’s session with a down trend as losers took control over the gainers.
The majors sectors including bank and financial institutions were in correction mood on the main bourse.
The DSE broad index—DSEX—lost 0.52 per cent or 28.62 points to 5417.78 points after one and half an hour of the session.
The shariah based index—DSES—declined 0.51 per cent or 6.48 points to 1256.03.
The DS30 index comprising blue chip went down by 0.60 per cent or 11.60 points to 1911.32 points.
Of the issues traded till 12:00 pm, 102 issues advanced, 149 declined and 65 were unchanged while the turnover stood at above Tk 2.07 billion on the DSE trading floor.
Khulna Power Company was on top of turnover chart with a value of Tk 305 million followed by Summit Power, Shasha Denims, Silva Pharmaceuticals and United Power Generation and Distribution Company.
