Digital device expo kicks off in city

A three-day long 'Digital Device and Innovation Expo-2019' has kicked off in the city on Monday aimed at showcasing locally-made products and attracting visitors specially youth and students.

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen inaugurated the function as the chief guest with State Minister for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak in the chair.

Local tech companies are exhibiting their latest innovation and devices at the first-ever expo being held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC).

The slogan of the fair, 'Made in Bangladesh', is highlighting the domestically-made products.

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Division, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA), Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) and Idea Project are jointly organising the programme.

Managing Director (secretary) of BHTPA Hosne Ara Begum, IDEA Project Director Syed Mujibul Haq and BCS president Md Shahid -ul-Munir, among others, spoke on the occasion.

High officials of the ICT Division, the BHTPA, the Idea Project and the BCS were also present at the function.

The fair will end on October 16 and will remain open for all from 10:00am to 8:00pm every day.

However, the visitors be allowed to enter the fair through online registration or spot registration.
