DIU unveils English Olympiad Bangladesh 2022

The Department of English at Daffodil International University is organising English Olympiad Bangladesh 2022 with the motto “Show your English talents, Go for greater challenge” to make our youth competent global citizens and take lead in international activities.

The competition is organised for facilitating the enhancement of English Education in the country with a view to creating scopes for students, beyond the classroom, to proactively involve them in creative practices of four particular segments of language: speaking, reading, writing & grammar.

Generally, the syllabus-based examinations at school and college levels in Bangladesh call for acute critical ability and sharp writing skills, but learners also need to draw out creative thinking, listening, speaking, reading and writing aptitudes which are central to our humanness.

Many learners get too little opportunity for such self-expression in normal routine activities. And they are in search of a stimulus for such creativity students of classes 9 to 10 (as well as “O” level) and class 11 to 12 (as well as 'A' level) from all over the country. They are eligible to participate in this competition in two categories: Senior Category (College Level) and Junior Category (School Level) respectively.

The Online Registration has already been started and will go till 25th May. The registration link is https://engolympiadbd.daffodilvarsity.edu.bd/register. The Selection Round will take place in June, and the result will be published in July. Lastly, the Grand Finale will be held on 7th October 2022.

Any candidate from anywhere in the country meeting the aforementioned requirements will be able to participate in this round by completing registration with the payment of 100 BDT. Moreover, the prizes are 50,000 BDT, 30,000 BDT and 10,000 BDT for the champion, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up in both the categories.

It can be hoped that this competition will be one of the most remarkable events bringing together students, guardians and respective experts as judges under one roof.
