DMP arrest 72 in anti-narcotics drive in city

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 72 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during in the ongoing anti-narcotics drives in the capital in last 24 hours till 6:00 am Friday.

Detective Branch (DB) in association with the members of local police stations carried out separate drives starting from 6:00 am Thursday, reports UNB.

During the drives, police recovered 2451 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets, 413 grams of heroin, 1,595 kg hemp, 80 bottles of phensidyle and 07 capsules of sedatives from their possessions, said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman.
