The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) today launched a campaign to destroy the breeding grounds of Aedes mosquito responsible for dengue.

DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon inaugurated the drive in front of the Padma General Hospital at Kathalbagan Dhal.

The city corporation’s campaign will cover 30 houses each in 57 wards under DSCC, UNB reports.

Khokon said 68 mobile medical teams are working on the ground. “We’ve so far provided first aid to 21,057 patients – many of them were suffering from fever,” he said.

He urged everyone to be aware and keep their houses clean.

“We want our city to be free from dengue,” he said. “Everyone needs to work together for this.”
