Ekushey Padak winning freedom fighter Golam Hasnain dies at 85

Ekushey Padak winning freedom fighter Advocate Golam Hasnain died of old age complications at his house in Kacharipara area of Pabna district on Saturday morning. He was 85.

According to his family members, he had been suffering from old age ailments for a long time and breathed his last at his house in the early hours of Saturday, reports UNB.

Advocate Golam Hasnain received Ekushey Padak in 2021 for his valiant role in the Liberation War.

Golam Hasnain, a member of Gano Parishad and the constitution drafting committee, was buried at Pabna Sadar graveyard after his Namaz-e-Janaza was held at Pabna Technical School and College field this afternoon.

Freedom fighter Hasnain is survived by wife, two sons and two daughters.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed shock at his death.
