Liaquat Hossain Moghul, renowned industrialist and a well known patroniser of education, has been appointed as the chairman of the board of trustees of Eastern University (EU).
He is one of the pioneers of the garment industry in Bangladesh. Mr Moghul is engaged in social, cultural and other philanthropic activities, according to a EU press release.
Hossain is a founder director of Australian International School, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
He is also the director of Eastern University, Islamic Finance and Investment Ltd, and affiliated with other social, economic organisations, said the release.
As a philanthropist, he has been constantly working for betterment of less privileged people of the society. He established schools, colleges, madrasas, mosques and orphanages.
