A female Awami League died after being electrocuted at Kashalia village in Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Rashmoni Mondal, 55, Women Affairs Secretary of upazila Awami League and daughter of Pagla Mandol of the village, reports UNB.
Mostafa Kamal, officer-in-charge of Muksudpur Police Station said Rashmoni came in contact with a live electrical wire while trying to turn her TV on and sustained severe burn injury.
The injured was taken to Muksudpur Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctor declared her dead.
