A female garment worker has been killed in a hit-and-run accident in Gazipur.
The accident took place on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway in the Gazipur City Corporation’s Salna area around 9 pm on Monday, said Naozor Highway Police Outpost Inspector Wahiduzzaman.
The deceased was identified as 53-year-old Achia Begum, a worker at a local garment factory.
Achia was heading home from work when a Mymensingh bound car on Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway hit her, killing her on the spot, Inspector Wahiduzzaman said, reports bdnews24.
Police recovered the body afterwards, added the inspector.
