IDSC distributes devices to people with disabilities in Gaibandha

Integrated Disability Service Centre (IDSC) has distributed assistive devices to a total of 105 people with disabilities in Gaibandha district on Monday.

Marking the 27th International and 20th National Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3, IDSC under Jatiya Protibandhi Unnanyan Foundation arranged the programme.

The theme of the day was, “Empowering persons with disabilities and ensuring inclusiveness and equity”.

A post rally function on assistive devices distribution was also held on the premises of IDSC at Shukhnagar area where people with disabilities from seven upazilas of the region took part.

Deputy Commissioner Sebastin Rema addressed the function and formally inaugurated the assistive devices distribution as the chief guest.

Wheelchair, tri-cycle, crutch, corner chair, toilet chair and standing frames were distributed among the 105 people coming from far flung areas of the district, reports BSS.

Consultant of physiotherapy Dr Arif Hossain, clinical physiotherapist Dr Bariul Islam, disability affairs officer Akhtar Hossain along with staff of IDSC were present at the programme.
