Man drowns in Sylhet

A man drowned at Champa Khari Beel in Fenchuganj upazila of Sylhet on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Alauddin Miah, 42, a resident of Rajonpur village in the upazila.

Quoting to family members, Nazmul Haque, officer-in-charge of Fenchuganj Police Station, said Alauddin went missing in the afternoon when catching fish in the waterbody, UNB reported.

After a frantic search, a team of divers from Fenchuganj Fire Service and Civil Defence recovered the body from the beel around 9pm.
