Man surrenders after ‘killing’ brother in Natore

A man surrendered to police on Tuesday night reportedly after killing his elder brother in Natore Sadar upazila.

The accused is Shahjahan Ali, 40, while the deceased was identified as Omar Faruque, 47, of Jongli village in the upazila.

Quoting locals, police said Shahjahan swooped on his elder brother Omar at a tea stall around 4pm, UNB reported.

He stabbed his brother with a sharp weapon, leaving him critically injured, said Kazi Jalal Uddin, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.

He was first taken to Sadar Upazila Health Complex from where he was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. He succumbed to his injuries around 10pm.

Later, Shahjahan went to Sadar Police Station and surrendered to police.
