Medical, dental students block Shahbagh intersection

Several hundred students of different private medical and dental colleges have blocked the Shahbagh intersection demanding immediate restart of their classes and cutting of fees, UNB reports.

They started the blockade from Sunday noon, leading to a halt in traffic movement through one of the key thoroughfares in Dhaka city.

The other demand for which the students are blocking the road is making their academic year session-jam-free.

All educational institutions have been shut since mid March when the coronavirus outbreak started in Bangladesh, with huge session jams looming over institutions of tertiary education like public universities, medical and dental colleges.
