A minor boy was killed after being hit by an auto-rickshaw at Baganmath village in Maheshpur upazila on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Junayed Hossain, 6, son of Kalu Mia of the upazila. He was a student of a local primary school, reports UNB.
Quoting locals, Rashedul Islam, officer-in-charge of Maheshpur Police Station, said the boy and his grandmother were going to their relative's house when Junayed was hit by an auto-rickshaw around 11:30am.
The boy, critically injured in the accident, was taken to the upazila health complex where doctors pronounced him dead, the OC said.
