Miscreants gunned down a former union parishad member in Boghachhari union of Naniarchar upazila on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Anadi Ranjan Chakma, former UP member of Naniarchar union.
Abdul Latif, officer-in-charge of Naniarchar Police Station, said that a gang of miscreants attacked Ranjan around 9:30 am and opened fire on him, leaving him dead on the spot, according to a UNB report.
The details about the murder could not be known immediately.
