Move to set up naval police station to protect Halda River

A naval police station will be set up to protect the Halda River, the only natural fish breeding river in the country.

Chattogram Naval Police SP Mominul Islam Bhuiyan on Sunday told journalists that there will be a naval police station in a convenient place in order to protect both sides of Halda River, reports BSS.

The location of the proposed Raozan Naval Police Station has not been decided yet, he said.

Recently, six CCTV cameras at a cost of Tk 4.75 lakh were installed at eight points to protect the Halda River.

Chattogram Range DIG Anwar Hossain, Chattogram Naval Police SP Mominul Islam Bhuiyan and Sadarghat Naval Police Officer-in-Charge ABM Mizanur Rahman visited different areas of Halda River on Sunday morning.
