Mudslide crushes four stone quarry workers

Four workers were killed and several others injured in a mudslide in Jaflong area of Goainghat upazila on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred when the workers were extracting stones from a quarry.

UNB said the deceased could not be identified yet.

Additional Superintendent of Police Shamsul Alam Sarkar, said a portion of mud collapsed on a group of workers around 4:30pm while they were extracting stones from the quarry at Mondirer Jum.

Four workers died on the spot while several others suffered injuries, he said.
