Organisations start donating PPE for doctors, nurses

A number of organisations have come forward to donate personal protective equipment (PPE) in a bid to ensure safety of the health-service providers to fight against COVID-19.

They have started distributing PPE in government hospitals of Dhaka and Chittagong on Monday. They will donate PPE to the divisional cities and district hospitals in phases.

The PPE has been prepared with the approval of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

With the initiative of the Manusher Jonno Foundation, Pay it Forward Bangladesh, British American Tobacco Bangladesh, local office of Marks and Spencer and Rotary Club Dhaka North-West supervised the voluntary activity.

BCS 82 batch, Bangladesh Civil Service (taxation) Association and some other groups have sponsored or extended help in preparing PPE.

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) also joined the move.

BSRM group also extended its cooperation.
