The number of truck registration in the country stood at 5,698 in the first seven months of the current calendar year alone, according to an official data.
Of the total, 4,276 trucks were registered in Dhaka, according to Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) statistics.
A total of 12,663 such vehicles were registered in 2018 while it was 10,353 in 2017, the transport regulator data showed.
