Ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route resumed after an eight-hour suspension due to dense fog.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transportation Corporation’s (BIWTC) Aricha terminal manager Mahiudddin Rasel said they suspended the ferry services around 3am after visibility came down because of dense fog.

Three ferries had to anchor in the mid river.

Hundreds of vehicles carrying goods and passengers were stuck at both ends of the river route.

Vehicles carrying passenger were allowed to cross the river first when the ferry services resumed around 11:00am.

During winter, ferry services are often suspended due to poor visibility, reports UNB.
