The Prime Minister’s Military Secretary Major General Mia Mohammad Zainul Abedin Bir Bikram has died during treatment in Singapore. He was 59.
Zainul breathed his last at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore at 5:13pm on Tuesday, according to the ISPR.
His body will be brought back home on Wednesday, said Biplab Barua, special assistant to the prime minister.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death Mr Abedin.
In a condolence message, the PM prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
